Case

Background
Pamplona Uno is one of the barangays in Las Piñas City, Philippines. According to the 2020 Census, the barangay has a population of 19,085, representing 3.15% of the city’s total population. To improve public safety and strengthen its community surveillance system, the barangay recently expanded its CCTV network across critical areas. However, with newly installed high-resolution IP cameras, the barangay needed a modern, stable, and scalable network solution that would ensure seamless connectivity from each camera to the command center.
Challenges
1. Ensuring Seamless Connectivity for High-Resolution IP Cameras
The barangay’s older surveillance infrastructure struggled to support the increasing bandwidth and data requirements of modern IP cameras. Continuous, real-time monitoring without delays was essential for security personnel.
2. Scalability for Future CCTV Expansion
As security needs evolve, the barangay plans to add more cameras and upgrade to higher-resolution units. The network solution required built-in scalability to accommodate future growth without major infrastructure changes.
Results
To overcome the challenges unmanaged Gigabit PoE switches are deployed
• Seamless CCTV Operation
CCTV operators reported no delay or latency issues when monitoring live camera feeds from the command center. This has significantly improved situational awareness and incident response.
• Space-Saving, Clean Installation
The compact design of the BDCOM switches allowed for neat and unobtrusive installations, minimizing visible cables and preserving the aesthetic of buildings and posts where cameras were mounted.
• Ready for Future Expansion
With available PoE capacity and robust uplink performance, the barangay can easily add more cameras, upgrade resolutions, or expand surveillance coverage as needed—without replacing the existing switching infrastructure.
